Multiple Sharks Found Swimming In NY Home's Basement Pool

Officers with the Department of Environmental Conservation discovered an above-ground pool full of sharks in a Hudson Valley home's basement while conducting a search last month. Folks, I've heard of Shark Tank but this is—hey no don't close the tab, I need this job.

DEC police made the strange discovery on August 23rd while executing a search warrant at a home in Lagrangeville, in Dutchess County, where residents were suspected of harboring illegal wildlife. The 15-foot above-ground pool housed seven live sandbar sharks, as well as two dead leopard sharks and one dead hammerhead shark, according to a press release from the DEC. The Times Union has more photos of the bizarre set-up.

No charges have been filed yet. Staff from the Wildlife Conservation Society were able to catch the sharks in order to take their blood, measure their length and tag them. The sharks were then transported to the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, Long Island, to be held until the ongoing investigation into the illegal animal harboring is complete.

Your move, lame dad with toy trains in your basement.
